Nikon Key Mission vs. GoPro Hero 5

In Gear Reviewby Patrick

Nikon recently released the Nikon Key Mission series of action cameras and is there answer to the ever popular GoPro series of cameras. Being more of a still photographer with an occasional foray into the video realm, I was interested to see how these two stacked up against each other. First the new Nikon KeyMisson 360:

You can compare the video quality and format from each. In my humble opinion, even though they are in the same category and compete against one another, each has unique offerings that you will have to decide on for your storytelling. Personally, I lean toward the GoPro 5 simply because I have had them in the past and I am familiar with the operations. Another point for me is that all the mounting hardware and such fits the new GP 5 so I don’t need to t buy those pieces at and additional cost. Although the Nikon KM 360 boast better optics IMHO and gives you a wider field of view which may appeal to some. If you are on the fence about an action camera, do your research and if you can hold off until Black Friday or Cyber Monday, you may get and even better deal.
