Just Passing Through

Just Passing Through

Each winter, we have flocks of Dark Eyed Junco’s that stop at our feeders. They are super fast, darting here and there, with white flicks of their tale feathers. Mostly staying on the ground, eating the seed that ohter birds drop from the feeders. Until today, I was not able to get a really good shot of one as they are quite skiddish and fly away quickly. Using camo in this instance allowed my to be relatively hidden from their view stacking the favor in my odds, at least that is what I thought. However, they are very astute and even the smallest movement, even with camo, spooked them. As winter winds down here in the Midwest, I am seeing fewer and fewer of these little guys, so I was glad that I got some good shots while they were just passing through.
